Of the 25,903 people living in Cherokee County in 2019, 50.7 percent (13,126) were women and 49.3 percent (12,777) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Gadsden Today.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 7,463-to-7,384. In the 65 and over age range, there were 3,111 females and 2,700 males.
