City of Gadsden issued the following announcement on March 25.
While Friday, April 1, is April Fool’s Day, there’s no fooling going on in Downtown Gadsden. The long-awaited return for First Friday is finally here and Broad Street will be filled with classic cars, food vendors and live music.
Broad Street will be closed and First Friday gets started at 6 p.m., lasting until 9 p.m. Downtown retail shops, restaurants and entertainments will stay open late to welcome attendees. It’s the perfect time to shop for Easter or to get an early start on Mother’s Day.
To get the celebration going, entertainment will include Ed Howard Band at 3rd & Broad, Jess Goggans Band at 4th & Broad, and Nexus at 5th & Broad.
"We know that everyone is looking forward to the 2022 season of First Friday,” said Kay Moore, DGI director. "We’re excited to start off with three great bands, several food vendors and the crowd-favorite classic cars. There will be something for the entire family to enjoy."
The guidelines for First Friday include no pets, no personal coolers or glass containers, no skateboards or roller blades and no advertising or fundraising.
