Snead State PBL Students Attend National Leadership Conference

Snead State Community College had 11 students to attend the 2022 FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conference in Chicago.

Students interested in the fields of business and economics are encouraged to join Phi Beta Lambda, but students in other majors are welcome to join. The purposes of the organization are to develop competent, aggressive business leadership and to create interest and understanding in business occupations.

During the National Conference, the students participated in competitive events, workshops, and social events over the four days.

“The students found time to sightsee in Chicago and visited Millennium Park, SkyDeck Chicago in the Willis Tower, Navy Pier, and the Field Museum of Natural History. They also took a river cruise through downtown. This was a wonderful experience for the students,” said Phi Beta Lambda sponsor Dr. Meredith Jackson.

Students attending included Arturo Ramos of Albertville, Jake Tidwell of Attalla, Raven Fox of Boaz, Alicia Ramirez-Perez of Albertville, Adriana Ponce of Boaz, Erika Aragon-Cruz of Horton, Amber Lopez of Horton, Cindy Guerrero of Boaz, Nancy Santiago of Albertville, R.J. Clark of Gallant, and Luciana Ramirez-Perez of Albertville. They were accompanied by Dr. Jackson and History/Political Science Instructor Dr. Grover Kitchens.

During the Conference, Snead State’s PBL Chapter was awarded the Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit for the State of Alabama. Dr. Jackson received the Outstanding Local Chapter Advisor for the State of Alabama.

Other winners included:

  • Jake Tidwell – third place in Network Design and fifth place in Networking Concepts
  • Erika Aragon-Cruz, Cindy Guerrero, Amber Lopez, and Nancy Santiago – third place in Parliamentary Procedure
  • Arturo Ramos, Adriana Ponce, Cindy Guerrero and Erika Aragon-Cruz – Bronze PBL Excellence Award
