The Gadsden Fire Department is conducting annual fire hydrant testing to ensure that hydrants are working properly. The testing sometimes can cause a slight discoloration of the water that should go away within a few days.
Fire Marshal Jason Talton said the department thanks residents and business owners in advance for their cooperation and patience as this necessary testing is done.
Testing will be done according to the following schedule:
October 10 to October 23, 2022; North and East side of the territories:
- Station 1: North of Broad Street inclusive
- Station 2: Airport Area
- Station 4: North of Meighan Boulevard inclusive
- Station 5: East of Noccalula Road and East of Tabor Road inclusive
- Station 6: East of Ewing Avenue inclusive
- Station 7: Walnut Park
- Station 8: East of Rainbow Drive inclusive
- Station 9: North of East Broad Street inclusive
October 24 to November 6, 2022; South and West side of the territories:
- Station 1: South of Broad Street inclusive
- Station 2: South Gadsden Area
- Station 4: South of Meighan Boulevard inclusive
- Station 5: West of Noccalula Road and West of Tabor Road inclusive
- Station 6: West of Ewing Avenue inclusive
- Station 7: South Gadsden Area
- Station 8: West of Rainbow Drive inclusive
- Station 9: South of East Broad Street inclusive
