Gadsden State Community College students in select career technical programs have the opportunity to win a lucrative scholarship made possible through a partnership between the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association and the Alabama Community College System.
Students can receive up to $4,000 in scholarship funds if they are enrolled in a program associated with automotive manufacturing. Eligible programs at Gadsden State include Mechatronics; Automated Manufacturing Technology; Precision Machining; Welding Technology; Automotive Service Technology; Mechanical Design Technology; Engineering Technology; Industrial Automation; and Industrial Maintenance. Other automotive technology-related programs may be considered.
Students who are awarded the scholarship may use the funds for their spring, summer or fall 2023 tuition, books and fees associated with the approved program of study.
Interested students must have at least a 2.5 GPA. They must also complete an application and submit a resume, a signed reference letter, an unofficial high school or college transcript and a headshot photo. Once the application is submitted, the student must complete the online AAMA Scholarship Orientation Course.
Last year, Gadsden State had 16 recipients of the AAMA scholarship, which was more than any other institution in ACCS. Recipients may be eligible for scholarship renewal by reapplication.
