Gadsden State Community College is hosting Women’s History Month events at 11 a.m. March 7 and 9 a.m. March 15. Dr. Kathy Murphy, president of Gadsden State, along with the administration, faculty, staff and students join other colleges, local and national organizations as the College continues its celebration of Women’s History Month.  The 2023 theme is "Celebrating Women Who Tell Stories."  Both events are free and open to the public.

Ruth Moffat, director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the city of Gadsden will be the featured speaker this Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Learning Resource Media Room on the Valley Street Campus.  The event will be livestreamed in Room 115 of the Joe Ford Center on the East Broad Campus, in the Cheaha Lecture Hall on the Ayers Campus and in Room 130 at Gadsden State Cherokee. 

A second event featuring a panel of female leaders from Anniston will be at 9 a.m. March 15 in the Learning Resource Center Auditorium on the Ayers Campus. Guest speakers include Ciara Smith, Vice Mayor and member of the Anniston City Council representing Ward 3, Wynika Hendrix Palmer, owner of Country Financial in Anniston and Dr. Janet Bavonese, assistant Vice Provost for Advising at Jacksonville State University. The event will be livestreamed in Room 115 of the Joe Ford Center on the East Broad Campus, in the Learning Resource Media Room on the Valley Street Campus and in Room 130 at Gadsden State Cherokee.  The event is free and open to the public.
